Last Day! Alaska Airlines is Having a BOGO Sale
Alaska Airlines is bringing back its awesome BOGO sale through Monday night (February 8, 2021). This is the third time they’ve offered this sale since last summer. It’s a sure sign that flight bookings for the airline are nowhere near where they need to be. We have a COVID-19 vaccine, certainly. But until it’s available to everyone, the virus will continue to have a major impact on the airline industry.
But the sale covers travel between February 16th and May 26th. I’d strongly consider booking toward the end of this window, when a much greater percentage of us will have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Customers can buy one Main Cabin ticket, now with no change fees, and the second passenger flies for just the taxes and fees.
Solo travelers are not being left out. They can save 10 percent on their flights, as well.
This is also a great time to fly First Class. During this sale, Alaska is offering a ten percent discount on First Class bookings.

Real Savings off Real Fares
Because of the low demand right now, fares are already low. I wrote about Alaska’s awesome First Class sale last July and took advantage of the savings. Those low First Class fares never really went away and may be even lower today. Check out the fares for my typical travel on Alaska Airlines, between New Orleans (MSY) and Seattle (SEA).
During this BOGO sale, you can book this itinerary round-trip for just $114 on a Saver fare. But the First Class tickets is just $362/round trip. If there was ever a time to splurge, this is it.
Travel Restrictions
There are some minor restrictions, the main one being that the BOGO discount code is not valid for Friday or Sunday travel. But you’ll still get a ten percent discount on those days.
For travel to Hawaii, Costa Rica or Mexico, the discount code is valid only for Sunday through Wednesday flights. For travel from Hawaii, Costa Rica or Mexico, just Tuesday through Friday flights. Travel to/from Prudhoe Bay is not included in this offer, nor are codeshare flights.
Earn Full Mileage Plan Miles
Alaska’s Mileage Plan loyalty program is still based on miles flown, not the price you pay. So for a 4,000 mile itinerary, Mileage Plan members will receive at least 4,000 miles. Elites will receive an additional bonus of at least 50%, depending on status level.
And don’t forget, Alaska is also offering a 50% elite qualifying bonus on flights through June 30, 2021. We’re not recommending mileage runs at this time. Final Thoughts
Alaska Airlines is having a BOGO sale, and it’s as good as it gets. Flying is tough right now, but Alaska has made me feel safe and has a reputation for great customer service.
